Ranking The OBITUARY Albums From Worst To Best

December 4, 2012

Obituary did the incredible by taking Celtic Frost’s template and making the sound even heavier and gnarlier. One of the progenitors of the death metal scene, these guys have been kicking decades of ass (minus a hiatus here and there) and still manage to deliver the goods in a live setting. To me, the guitar sound on their debut album is just one of the sickest ever put on record. A huge part of the early Tampa, Florida death metal scene, this is one band that requires immediate immersion if you are a neophyte to the scene. Here is how I personally rank the Obituary album from the least good to the greatest!

I could never get into the later albums by them, guess I got tired of the same riffing styles over and over. However my list based on what I own is:

    1. Slowly We Rot
    2. Cause Of Death
    3. World Demise
    4. The End Complete
    5. Back From The Dead

    Accurate!

  3. I totally agree! Slowly We Rot makes me very happy.
