RYM’s 15 Worst Death Metal Albums Of 2012
Certainly taste lies within the perception of each individual and is hardly universal, so the wise man will take this list with a grain of salt. However, given that this list was compiled by a bunch of death metal fans, I’d recommend that you at least go sample songs from these albums on YouTube before committing to purchase these CDs. This list was assembled by the masses of voters and raters at rateyourmusic.com and is NOT MY PERSONAL LIST. But, if you wanna send hatemail via the comments here, I’m all for it!

I agree with most of thsi list except for terrorizer and 6′under. SFU has a new line up and sounds better than it has in years. terrorizer is grindcore not death metal and has dealt with a lot of crussing blows and this album is a fitting tribute to jesse. As for the rest of this list i think Death metal in general is on the decline.
I disagree that death metal is in decline, I prefer the old school stuff and wouldn’t have imagined Terrorizer to be worthy of this list. There are a lot of newer more exciting old school death metal bands though.
The new Terrorizor is bad ass(better than the new morbid angel) and the new SFU record owns
This is a horrible list. Holy shit. Wretched, Cryptopsy, and Begging for Incest were KILLER. Desecravity and Visceral Throne were DAMN good. 6FU is meh, fuck Disfiguring the Goddess, don’t know the rest, but wow.
To say Wretched’s album was bad is proof people don’t know WTF they’re talking about.

Definitely shocked by some of the albums in the lower quarter of the list, especially Terrorizer. New Cryptopsy seemed a tad formulaic at times but not bad by any means, clearly better than TUK. Different strokes, I guess.
Oh, strange, there are some great stuff in there.
Six feet under and Malfeitor kicks some serious arse!
