The Futility And Stupidity Of War
Twenty suicidal maniacs kill 3,000 people and the reaction is to send hundreds of thousands to fight and millions die. Revenge is one of the weakest traits of humanity. The sanctity of life reduced to ‘collateral damage’. Perhaps it is human nature. I don’t know. I don’t understand it and hope never to. If a suicidal maniac wants to die and take someone with him, he’ll find a way. The killing of non-suicidal maniacs to stop them is an act of utter futility, and by definition the same act perpetrated by those they claim to be in opposition to. At some point, does thought and rationale factor in, or do murders and wars just carry on to the detriment of all mankind? Is one life more valid than another among the human race? Does wanton mayhem and violence really satisfy any goal of a group of civilized humanity? Are forgiveness and turning the other cheek just lip service for the self righteous that do not apply to their own actions? Can’t we all just get along?

Excellent, excellent piece.
Good post. I’ve always been perplexed by “war” and the people who suffer the most are the least concerned with the politics usually. I suggest our “Leaders” find more constructive ways of fighting it out instead of killing other peoples kids. I think this quote pretty much sums it up “Our prefrontal lobes are too small and adrenalin glands too big”
Ha, that last statement is right on the money.
Perhaps our leaders should play basketball to settle international disputes. Far more interesting than killing.
