One of the most fun albums in the history of metal. Combining Seuss-esque sing along anthems about serial killers with absolutely stellar musicianship, the Illinois (emphasis on ‘Ill’) trio of Corporate Death, Nefarious, and Dennis The Menace (which may or may not be their actual given names) struck gold in 1993 with “Sinister Slaughter”. Taking the formula from their previous album “Gloom” and adding more death metal and grindcore elements, Macabre created an album that sounded like nothing else. Compositionally creative yet still catchy, this is an album that has something for every metal fan. It is rare to hear any complaints. My favorite tracks: “Vampire Of Dusseldorf” and “There Was A Young Man Who Blew Up A Plane”.
