RYM’s Top 25 Heavy Psych Albums Of All-Time
Generally considered as one of the most direct predecessors of heavy metal, the genre of heavy psych takes your standard psychedelic rock and pumps it up on steroids. That 8000 pound elephant in the room? That is nothing other than Sir Lord Baltimore playing through a good system. While it takes you on a ride, whether meixed with other psychedelic substances or not, it pummels your brain at the same time. I can only imagine that this most furious offshoot of the blues is where the art of headbanging developed. Otherworldly and organic at the same time, it is the definition of mindfuck madness. Here is how the folks at RYM rank the top 25 Heavy Psych albums of all time. (Remember, this is NOT my list)
