Mayhem Bassist Necrobutcher To Sell Chargers Memorabilia To Fund B3 Tour
How badly does Necrobutcher want the B3 tour to happen? Apparently bad enough to sell his prized collection of San Diego Chargers memorabilia on eBay…
His vast collection includes items such as young men he abducted and forced to stand outside the gates of his home dressed in Lance Alworth and Kellen Winslow uniforms. He also has a replica old-school Dan Fouts beard that he “only wears to Amon Amarth and Radiohead shows these days”, and 5,212 Junior Seau bobblehead dolls. He has a 35′ tall statue of LaDainian Tomlinson appraised at about $700,000 American dollars as well. Of course that is small potatoes compared to the Batman searchlight that beams the Chargers logo across the sky that he keeps on “only during Chargers games, unless I’m too drunk to turn it off”. His favorite piece though, the ‘Natrone Means Business’ billboard he stole from the side of a street when making a hajj to San Diego to watch the Chargers back in ’94 or ’95 (he wasn’t absolutely certain which). He hopes to raise about 2.7 million dollars to make the tour of his dreams happen.
B3 will be the bassists answer to the famed G3 guitarist tour (that over the years featured such luminaries as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, John Petrucci, and Kenny Wayne Sheppard). Accompanying him on the tour will be Poison four-stringer Bobby Dall and Overkill’s D.D. Verni. Fan reaction has been lukewarm, as it seems that only a small handful of people in the world are interested in spending 3 hours of their lives watching a bunch of guys play bass, but for the die hards, it is expected to be a hit. Worth giving up the biggest San Diego Chargers collection ever? Time will tell…
